December 10 is a great opportunity to honour the United Nations General Assembly's adoption and proclamation of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights (UDHR), the first global enunciation of human rights. People in Need, together with the Embassy of the Netherlands in the Czech Republic, and the Delegation of Flanders in the Czech Republic, cordially invites you to our all-evening event. It will include a panel discussion on Journalism in Times of Conflict, a screening of the documentary film "Bellingcat: Truth in a Post-Truth World", and a Q&A with Flemish analyst Pieter Van Ostaeyen. Light refreshments will be served after the screening.
Admission is free of charge, however due to limited capacity, we encourage you to plan your arrival at least a few minutes before the start of the event. Event schedule:
17:00 – 18:15 Panel Debate: Journalism in Times of Conflict
How conflict is covered is critical for societies affected by war, and conflict-sensitive coverage can help bridge divides. But can local journalists remain impartial in times of war? How to report objectively without being labeled un-patriotic?
Our panelists from Ukraine, Azerbaijan, and Armenia will discuss the challenges & opportunities of wartime journalism in the 21st century.
The debate will feature Arzu Geybullayeva (Azerbaijani columnist & writer), Oleksiy Matsuka (Ukrainian journalist, editor-in-chief of Novosti Donbassa), and Agabeg Simonyan (Armenian-Georgian journalist at Aliq Media, Georgia). Moderation: Anna Zamejc (International Advocacy Officer, People in Need).

18:30 – 20:00 Movie screening: Bellingcat: Truth in a Post-Truth World
The documentary explores the promise of open source investigation, taking viewers inside the exclusive world of the "citizen investigative journalist" collective known as Bellingcat.

20:00 – 20:30 Q & A with Pieter Van Ostaeyen, Flemish historian, Arabist & analyst

20:30 – 22:00 Networking gathering
